Where will 27-year-old Argentine striker
Gonzalo Higuain be playing his football next
season?
As seems to be a right of passage every summer,
current Napoli forward Higuain is thought to be
open to a big money move in the off-season, and
some of the Premier League biggest clubs are
said to be circling.
According to Wednesday’s Corriere dello Sport,
Higuain, who scored 19 goals for Napoli in Serie A
last season, is now a €40 million target for Jose
Mourinho’s Chelsea.
It is well known that the West London side are
looking to strengthen upfront during the summer
transfer window, after club legend Didier Drogba
left Stamford Bridge at the end of the last
campaign.
Chelsea, however, face competition from Man
United, who themselves are in need of bolstering
their front-line after the departure of Radamel
Falcao from Old Trafford.
Aside from the two English clubs, Corriere dello
Sport list French moneybags PSG as a third suitor
for Higuain, while the Italian daily says that
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is looking
sell the player for an tear-jerking €100 million.
