come as little surprise that Dani Alves has
extended his stay at the treble winners.
On Tuesday, Barcelona announced that Alves had
signed a new two year deal at the Nou Camp,
taking the Brazilian up to June 2017.
The flying full back has the option of staying at
Barcelona for a further season after that.
Alves has been a key player for Barcelona since
signing from Sevilla and appeared to be back to
his best during 2014/2015.
Speculation has been rife for some time about
Alves and whether he would stay at Barcelona
with Manchester United and AC Milan interested.
Alves reportedly wanted better pay at Barcelona,
but in the end it appears the La Liga winners had
their way.
Just after Barcelona announced the new deal,
Alves posted the video below on Instagram, from
the Nou Camp treble celebrations, it simply says:
“Following my heart”.
A second video quickly followed from Alves on
Instagram, this one said: “Seguindo meu coração
e daqueles que me amam” – “Following my heart
and those who love me”.
